Gameplay Overview

Cities USA is a standalone city-building game from designers Phil Walker-Harding and Steve Finn that puts you in the role of an urban planner transforming American neighborhoods into gleaming modern districts. Each round, players use their four workers to draft resources from a shared board — claiming scoring cards, city tiles, feature tiles (parks, waterways), and building pieces in any order they choose. The tiles then get assembled in your personal play area into a growing grid of streets, towers, green spaces, and waterfronts, with points flowing from connected areas, fulfilled achievements, and your scoring card objectives. New to this edition are skyscrapers that stack even higher, bridges, and highways — adding fresh strategic layers on top of the streamlined drafting foundation of the original. With artwork by Kwanchai Moriya and a solo mode included, it's a great all-around family strategy game that's quick to teach and satisfying to play.
