Gameplay Overview: Legend in the Mist is a rustic fantasy RPG about ordinary people who grow into heroes of legend. It's built on Son of Oak's narrative-first Mist Engine, the same system behind City of Mist and :Otherscape. Instead of long lists of numbers, your character is described by short tags such as "nimble fingers" or "my father's old sword." Those tags are what you draw on when you take action. Rolls are quick, and the story stays at the center of play. The corebook is designed to be beginner-friendly and easy to learn as you play, which makes it a great fit for groups that are new to tabletop roleplaying. The pregen folios mean players can sit down and start right away, and the Narrator Screen keeps key rules close at hand. It's a cozy, folkloric alternative to dungeon-crawling fantasy, and a beautiful gift set for any RPG fan.
