Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure set in the landscapes of early 20th century North America. Players collect and play matching train cards to claim railway routes between cities across the continent. Gather sets of colored cards, claim routes to grow your network, and connect the cities on your tickets to score. It comes with a giant map of the North American rail network and a set of miniature trains for each player. It's easy to learn and stays fun for years, which makes it a beautiful pick for game night with family and friends.
Gameplay Overview: Each turn is simple: draw train cards, claim a route by playing a matching set of cards, or take new destination tickets. The hard part is deciding when to act. If you wait too long, someone may grab the route you needed, but if you move too early, you'll show everyone your plans. At the end of the game, completed tickets add to your score and unfinished ones subtract from it, and the player with the longest continuous path earns a bonus. Long coast-to-coast routes give the game its sense of big ambition. It can feel relaxed with two players and get properly cutthroat with five. Ticket to Ride is a true modern classic, and it's one of the best games for bringing new people into the hobby.
