TORQ is a post-apocalyptic “car-PG” for 2 to 5 players, half road-warrior tactics and half freeform roleplaying. You’re a driver: a traveler with special talents who goes from community to community, helping in any way you can. You’re licensed to go anywhere and tough enough to handle anything, with gas in the tank, an X on the map, and miles of blacktop ahead. Race along the open road, collect the pieces of a changed world, and build something new together. TORQ’s world is more hopeful than most post-apocalyptic stories, built around communities that live independently and together, connected by mutual aid and by the drivers who travel between them. What’s Inside: TORQ is really two games in one. In the Road game, drivers race across a modular playmat grid of highways, mountain passes, canyons, and city streets, using a unique tactical system to dodge obstacles, investigate strange things, and take on anyone who stands in their way. In the Reststop game, the pace slows down. Drivers arrive at a community, and players take on different characters who live there, playing out scenes and building the world together in a relaxed, low-stakes hangout. Switching between the two gives every session a satisfying rhythm of action and connection. The Operator Manual is a 100-page, full-color, digest-size (8.5" x 5.5") paperback with everything you need to play.
