Beer & Bread is a multi-use card game for two players, with a clever structure of alternating rounds that puts a fresh twist on player interaction, card drafting, and resource management. Set on the fruitful lands of a former monastery, two villages carry on the dual tradition of brewing beer and baking bread while sharing fields and resources. Each player represents one of these villages, managing the harvesting, storing, producing, and selling of goods across six alternating fruitful and dry years. The twist is that you must keep your beer and bread production balanced, since only the lower-scoring good counts toward your final total. The player with the higher score after six years wins.
Gameplay Overview
Beer & Bread challenges you to build up two production lines at once, knowing that neglecting either one will sink your final score. Every round asks you to juggle drafting cards, managing resources, and planning ahead for both fruitful and lean years. The tension comes from balance: going all-in on one good leaves the other dragging your score down. It's a clever two-player battle of timing and foresight dressed up in a cozy monastery theme. Great for couples or friends looking for a tight, strategic head-to-head game.
