In 2016, Grant Howitt decided — flippantly — to write a one-page roleplaying game every month and release it for free online. Little did he know that the barely-intelligible pen-and-ink scratches he turned out would go on to define his career, and the shape of roleplaying games, for years to come. Played by thousands of people all over the world, Grant's one-page games run the gamut from strange to silly, daft to deadly serious, and powerfully original to potentially copyright-infringing. This volume is a special collection of ten one-page games aimed at younger readers, complete with secret back page material for every game that's never been released online. Any swears or grown-up concepts have been swapped out for more family-friendly content. All games have been illustrated by Grant and laid out in full colour by Minerva McJanda. You'll also get every front page game as a downloadable PDF immediately.
Gameplay Overview
Each of the ten games in this collection is a complete, self-contained tabletop roleplaying experience that fits on a single page — no GM prep, no complicated rules, no heavy books required. Players pick up a game, read it in minutes, and jump straight into imaginative collaborative storytelling. The ten games include Honey Heist (you're a criminal bear infiltrating HONEY CON), Super-Cool Monster Hunting Club (grab a saucepan and fight a Dracula), Dungeonscrawl (draw and explore a magical dungeon), Goat Crashers (you're a cheeky goat who just wants to party), Once Upon a Crime (fairy tale heists), Crash Pandas (raccoons trying to drive the same car), and more. Each game pairs a punchy premise with a simple two-stat or card-based resolution mechanic, making them ideal for introducing younger players — or anyone new to roleplaying — to the hobby in a single session.
